Michaela Leigh Petersen is a lifelong resident of Bergen County, New Jersey. Ms. Petersen graduated from Radford University with a B.S. degree in psychology and was one of the inaugural members of their Division I Women’s Lacrosse team. While at Radford, Ms. Petersen was a recipient of the 2017 Alpha Omega Award and the 2019 Unsung Hero Award given by Radford Athletics.  

Ms. Petersen then went on to attend the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and was a dedicated member of their Advocacy Program as it ranked in the top 25 nationally. While competing on numerous mock trial teams and serving as team captain each semester, Ms. Petersen was the Internal Competitions Director for the Advocacy Program, and ran multiple competitions hosted by Pace Law School. Additionally, Ms. Petersen was one of the first people to begin writing for The Advocate’s Advantage, the advocacy program’s blog, and the only student to receive her own recurring column. The column, which she titled Booklore, was published monthly and contained trial advocacy book reviews and recommendations. Ms. Petersen also had the pleasure of serving as an editor for her trial advocacy Professor, Jared Hatcliffe’s, debut book titled Trial Advocacy: The Art of Storytelling published in 2022. At the end of her time at Pace, Ms. Petersen received the 2021-2022 Professor Keith Sullivan Award, which recognizes the recipient’s exemplary, outstanding, and professional performance in Advocacy Competitions. 

After graduating from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, Ms. Petersen went on to complete a judicial clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Bergen County, specifically with the criminal division for both the Hon. Keith A. Bachmann, J.S.C. and the Hon. Marc D. Ramundo, J.S.C.

Ms. Petersen has always been passionate about helping others and being able to use her knowledge and experience to give victims a voice and opportunity to fight and is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue this at the Law Offices Rosemarie Arnold.

Ms. Petersen is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and the United States District Court for the district of New Jersey.
